The Washington St. Mural Project Fundraiser

Oceanside, CA April 22nd, 2011 from 5 – 10 PM, the Cup Coffee Bistro, 206 Wisconsin Street, Oceanside, CA is hosting a community driven fundraiser to pay for the new mural, generate aid to send to Japan, and help support a local family dealing with tragedy.

This event is being held to raise money to fund a new mural by Taylor Gallegos (www.TaylorGallegos.com), to grace the east wall of the Wisconsin Market Building on Wisconsin Street in Oceanside. The new mural will reflect the diverse community that is Oceanside from the perspective of Wisconsin Street’s famous strand access point. There will be large scale artwork by Gallegos on display. Entertainment will include live music from local bands and performance poetry by Oceanside artists. There will be no cover and this event is free to the public.

A raffle to assist in generating funds includes prizes of framed artwork by Gallegos and gifts donated by local Oceanside businesses. Tickets are $10. 10% of the funds generated will be donated directly to a Japan Relief fund to encourage involvement in our global community. There will be a unique and special painting from the tragically beautiful memorial service recently held for Oceanside’s beloved Devin Allen. This painting will be silently auctioned at the event with all proceeds going directly to the Allen family.
